As a graphic designer, I found this quote liberating. Graphic designers are problem solvers not logo factories. You have a problem, we solve it. Paul Rand (look him up) was a brilliant designer and basically told Steve Jobs that here is my best solution to your design 'problem'. No extra versions, no additional samples nothing. Finished. And...you will pay me for this (my) solution. You don't have to use it.
This designer had major sack.
