It's the Community"
Is landscaping church?
My friend Dave needed some help and by a scheduling miracle I had the spare day and the strength to do so. It was the most beautiful day one could dream of in Las Vegas, cool 65 degrees and no wind. Some shovels, wheelbarrows, rakes and one God blessed backhoe. Hard work, fellowship, sweat, blood, tears, all in a day's work sharing the gospel.
Fellowship comes in many forms, some formal, some informal. Some planned some spontaneous. Some come at the end of a five foot shovel. One thing they all have in common is two or more are gathered together. We didn't dig deep, but we dug together. We had a goal and we came close to finishing it. We helped a brother.
The Carder house has been a blessing to the Apex community. It has housed more strangers, (some stranger than others) feed more hungry and held up the Apex mission as best as it could. Dave and Amy are true community people and it is a blessing to help them and a blessing to me to give back to our community of Christians, when so many people gave to our family during our disastrous flood in August.
It is in that thin fragile connection between people where Jesus does His work.
